Getting down the right motions, in the right sequence at the right paces is all it takes to hit the ball well. Unfortunately, most of us were not born knowing how to do that. Which is why we have golf swing trainers.
There are two very different types of golf swing trainers, one of them is a type of equipment and one of them is a person. We’ll talk about both here, because they work well when used in tandem.

Golf swing trainers – the equipment – are types of equipment that help you refine your swing and swing motions. Some of them attach to the club. One example of this type of golf swing trainer is a device which fits on the club and is designed to slow the speed of the club as you come through your down swing.
The purpose of this is to help you be able to detect where there are subtle problems in your swing. Many people do this by just swinging more slowly, and that helps as well, but putting this device on your club allows you to get the same effect without having to use muscles to slow down your body muscles, allowing a more true representation of your natural swing.
There are other golf swing trainers that work by directing your club to certain predetermined locations, so that you get in the habit of knowing where the club should be at any point in the swing sequence.
Yet a third type is more of a system, but it is also referred to as a golf swing trainer. This system video tapes you as you go through your swing and compares your swing with a “perfect” to help identify the areas where you are making errors. This type of system is fantastic in many respects because the camera is a better detective than even the most skilled instructor, so nothing gets missed.
In can, on the other hand, be an expensive way to go.
Of course, there is also the human form of a golf swing trainer, otherwise known as a golf instructor. Their task is to watch and observe you through your swing and report back on what they see, as well any corrective measures you should take.
These are often the most effective, as you can interact with them in way that no camera allows for. They are especially helpful if you are trying to overcome some kind of physical limitation to learn how to swing well. Many people have lower back pain, for example, and instructors generally are skilled in helping people working around these issues and achieve the best swing they are capable of achieving.
All of these approaches can be augmented with ongoing education through magazines, videos and books. The important thing is to keep at it. Work with a golf instructor, find a good golf swing trainer and then practice your heart out.
