The golf short game is much more subject to correct club selection, course conditions, where the ball lays and so. So there is much more variability of circumstances that factor into the difficulty of any given short game shot.

So, practicing these shots is important when it comes to honing your skills. That said, even for those who are willing to work on this part of their game, the best ways to do so are not always apparent.

One way to get on top of that question is to go to a practice green and just dump a bunch of balls at different points around the green. Drop them on the green, in awkward places around the green, in the sand and so on. Make the shots challenging enough for them to reveal to you where the weaknesses exist in your game so that you can hone in on those and devote more practice energy to them.

Also, practice with different clubs for these shots. Obviously, sand shots require a special club, putters are almost always used on the green and chips will require their own clubs, but even within this retinue, practice with different clubs.
