Better Golf Swing
Learning to develop a better golf swing starts with understanding how you are currently swinging the club. Beginnings are often confronted with the realities of their initial natural swing the first time they try to hit the ball, and the pros continually go back to this same point. If the question is ‘how do I ‘achieve a better golf swing?,’ then you also have to ask ‘better than what?’
Following are the steps to walk through to determine where the problem areas are, so that you can work on them in developing a better golf swing.

First, pay attention to how you address the ball, and how you go through the set-up. The set-up is one of the vastly neglected areas of golf, when it comes to those who are looking to improve their game, and it is one of the most important. So much of getting the upper hand on your swing requires consistency, and the best place to start getting consistent is in the way you set up.
The set-up should be completed exactly the same way every time. And if you don’t have a sense of how you look when setting up, try practicing in the mirror. Go to the practice range, and practice setting up. I might sound ridiculous, but getting your mind and body in the habit of going through the same process over and over again, will get your mind and body in the habit of going through your stroke in the same way over and over again.
Next, as you line up to hit ball, stop and ask yourself what you body looks like and whether you are in the proper starting posture. Obtaining a better swing will be frustrated by poor posture, so make your that your eyes are forward, your chin is up and your back is straight. This posture position will help ensure that you are able to maintain good balance as you go through your swing.
Once you are set up properly and your posture in aligned correctly, check your grip. You should already have placed your grip on the shaft, but take a moment to check in and make sure your hands have not moved out of position.
If you have adjusted your grip, check in to make you are in alignment. At this point, you will begin to go through your sequence of pre-swing swings. Again, the objective with this is to be consistent. Get and stay in the habit of doing it the same way. You want to train your mind what to expect, and you want to train your body to expect what to do.
So, if you do three small pre-swings, do three small pre-swings every time.
If you master this just this much, you will have produce a better golf swing. And if you’ve noticed, you have not actually swung the club yet. Golf is a game of inches, including the ones you are standing in before you swing your club. Improve those, and you will have a better golf swing.
